If you’ve got an HDR display, and use Chrome 137+ or Safari 26+ (even on iOS), perhaps you’ve seen images sometimes with colors that are so bright they seem to dim the rest of the screen. I find it a bit distracting, but I can see how it could be a fun technological gimick sometimes. The site soverybright.com helps you do it. It works!
For the web we add an ISO 21496-1 gain map — a second, tiny grayscale image that tells HDR-aware software how much brighter each pixel may go.
You can make it work with text by using the background-clip: text thing that everyone uses for gradient text.
